
Graduate Visa
After completing your studies in Australia, you can be granted a Temporary Graduate visa, Subclass 485 allowing you to stay and work full-time in Australia. To be eligible, you must have studied for at least 2 academic years in Australia, have completed your course and apply for the Graduate visa within 6 months after completing your studies.
There are 2 different streams, depending on your completed studies and on the occupation related to your qualification.
The Graduate Stream
This visa can be granted for students with skills and qualifications in demand in Australia. You will need to obtain a positive skills assessment from the appropriate assessing authority for the occupation you are nominating.
The cost is $1,650 for the primary applicant and you can add family member in your application.
The Post-Study work stream
The visa is offered to international students graduating with a higher education degree in Australia. The visa can be granted for up to 4 years, depending on the qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree: 2 years work rights
- Bachelor’s degree with Honours: 2 years work rights
- Masters by coursework degree: 2 years work rights
- Masters (extended) degree: 2 years work rights
- Masters by Research: 3 years work rights
- Doctoral degree: 4 years work rights
The cost is $1,650 for the primary applicant and you can add family member in your application.
